Phyllis "Showtime" Braxton learned Chicago 8 count stepping late in 2009 and entered her first Stepping competition in 2010. After placing 2nd in Milwaukee's Largest in the Beginners' category, she went into her first WLSC ranked 2nd in the country for Beginners. In 2012 she placed 2nd at the Rockford WLSC prelim and along with her partner J. MOST became the first Minnesota couple to place in the WLSC. Since placing 3rd in the Out-of-Town category Phyllis has maintained her reputation of the Line Dance Diva and top female Chicago 8 count stepper in Minnesota. Alvena Richburg has been involved with Chicago 8-Count Stepping for 4 years and with COMMAND STEPPERS for 3 1/2 years.  She won twice during the Minnesota Steppers All-Star BASH competition, winning 1st place in 2014 and 2nd place in 2015.  She encourages all interested dancers to join the COMMAND STEPPERS family and fall in love with this dance!
